Events at Scone



Scone Palace is the venue for many major national and regional events throughout the year.

In July each year, the Scottish Game Fair is held in the beautiful Parkland setting at Scone Palace, which attracts an audience of over 20 000 visitors.  

The star studded  "Summer at Scone Palace"  concert  series hosted the ever popular Jools Holland with Lulu, The British Philharmonic Orchestra with All Angels and Gardar Cortes, and to round off the weekend concert goers "Rocked All Over the World" to the rocking sounds of Status Quo.

16th & 17th February – Snowdrop Festival

22nd, 23rd and 24th February – Galloway Antiques Fair & Snowdrop Festival

Easter Weekend - 21st – 24th March – Easter Extravaganza Weekend – TBC

3rd & 4th May – Central Scotland Horse Trials

4th May – History With Puppets- Puppet Theatre – Hamish the Highlander tells tales of Scottish history.

18th May – Cancer Research UK Race For Life

18th May – The Clansman - Come along and learn about the Highland Clans, their weapons, culture and traditions

 

2nd July – Illyria Outdoor Theatre - Pinocchio

 

4th, 5th and 6th July – The Scottish Game Fair

 

19th & 20th July – The Highlander World Championships – A fusion of history and traditional sport which echo the war games of our ancestors. Events include traditional throws, gladiatorial challenges and feats of strength.

20th July – Pictish Warriors. Meet the Picts and learn about their great victory at the Battle of Dunnichen

 

Summer Concert Series – ‘Live at Scone Palace’. After our successful debut last year look out for details for our second concert series and an all-star line-up!

 

2nd & 3rd August – Orchid Festival 2008 - Buy orchids from top-orchid growers, gain tips and ideas from the demonstrations and enjoy the orchid displays in the beautiful setting of Scone Palace.

 

9th & 10th August – Central Scotland Horse Trials

 

14th September – Scottish Vintage Tractor and Engine Club Extravaganza

 

19th October - 10K Cancer Research Run

 

25th & 26th October – Hallowe’en Weekend – Witches Show. Learn about a Scottish Witch Trial in this fun family show.  Experience how a real trial was conducted and join the jury to determine the witch’s fate!

 

14th, 15th and 16th November – Galloway Antiques Fair

 

5th, 6th & 7th December - Christmas Weekend - Scone Palace by Candlelight

The Palace will also be open during the Winter on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 21st November to 14th December, from 11am – 4pm.
